Alouette III Helicopter

The Alouette III is a remarkable utility helicopter. With an Empty Weight in its current configuration of 2850 lbs and a Maximum All-Up Weight of 4850 lbs, it offers a useful load of 2000 lbs. It can also safely transport 1 pilot and up to 6 passengers.

The Alouette III is currently equipped with a rescue hoist, cargo sling as well as a 680 lt Bambi Bucket Fire Fighting system. Optional Emergency Flotation gear may also be fitted for offshore operations. The Alouette III is well known throughout the helicopter industry for its ruggedness and excellent hot and high capabilities, a true workhorse of the skies.

It’s fully articulated rotor system is rated for start-up in extreme wind conditions of up to 60 kts (111 km/hr) and reaction time for take-off is also extremely quick due to the fact that the Turbomeca Artouste IIIB turbine engine does not require any warm-up after start-up.

Heavy-duty muffler, low tail rotor tip speed, and a large, cambered fin to off-load the tail rotor make the R44 a "community friendly," quiet helicopter. Thick acoustical foam achieves surprisingly low cabin noise levels.
